About All Things Possible Mobility

OUR HISTORY

Lisa Sexton, Founder and Executive Director of All Things Possible, left the corporate world in the fall of 2010 at age 53. She was hospitalized for an entire month battling a rare autoimmune liver disease. While home recuperating, the medical bills started pouring in. The fear and stress that goes along with those bills occupied her thoughts daily. This crisis is what God used to demonstrate His power and plant a seed in her heart to want to help others going through financial hardships due to medical situations. In May of 2013, Lisa put her organizational and planning skills to work to create a nonprofit to do with as the Lord would lead. The first thing the Lord impressed upon Lisa was to name the organization All Things Possible, after the scripture verse Matthew 19:26 that ends, “…but with God all things are possible.”

Paperwork was completed, a Board of Directors was formed, a website was developed, fundraising began, and All Things Possible became a reality, with Lisa at the helm. The original mission of All Things Possible was to help people pay the high out-of-pocket costs of medical care and mobility equipment. In 2017, the focus changed to wheelchair vans due to an overwhelming number of requests for vehicles to safely transport the disabled. It became clear that this was an area in which no other nonprofit or government agency was helping, except in the case of veterans. Since we refocused our mission in 2017, we have gifted over 50 wheelchair accessible vans to Carolina families. While this may not sound like a huge number, the high cost of these specialty vans is out-of-reach for these families, and the impact is truly life-changing. Not only does the person who is unable to walk receive a blessing, but their entire family and social circle can then participate in their life. All Things Possible has received wheelchair van requests from people all over the country. However, with the high cost of these specialty vans, we can only cover the 8 counties surrounding Charlotte, NC. The waiting list is substantial. If only 50% were approved, it would take 3 – 4 years to help all those who are hoping and praying for mobility and independence. We would love to expand into more counties and serve more people, but that can only happen through the generosity of people like you.
