Meet Lisa Sexton
Lisa Sexton, Founder and Executive Director of All Things Possible, left the corporate world at age 53, after suffering through a life-threatening illness. With her first-hand experience of the unexpected burden of major medical bills, Lisa decided she wanted to help others struggling with the same. In May of 2013, Lisa put her organizational and planning skills to work to create a nonprofit to do with as the Lord would lead.
The first thing the Lord impressed upon Lisa was to name the organization All Things Possible, after the scripture verse Matthew 19:26 that ends, “…but with God all things are possible.” Paperwork was completed, a Board of Directors was formed, a website was developed, fundraising began, and All Things Possible became a reality, with Lisa at the helm.
The original mission of All Things Possible was to help people pay the high out-of-pocket costs of medical care and mobility equipment. In 2017, the focus changed to wheelchair vans due to an overwhelming number of requests for vehicles to safely transport the disabled. It became clear that this was an area in which no other nonprofit or government agency was helping, except in the case of veterans.
From July of 2017 when ATP officially entered the wheelchair van business through year-end 2022, All Things Possible Medical Fundraising has raised enough money to purchase and gift 31 vehicles to help safely transport the disabled. These all went to families within just 5 counties surrounding the Charlotte, NC area. While this may not sound like a huge number, the high cost of these specialty vans is out-of-reach for these families and the impact is truly life-changing.
All Things Possible has gotten wheelchair van requests from people in surrounding areas and they almost always have a waiting list. They would love to expand into surrounding counties and serve more people, but that can only happen through the generosity of caring individuals.
