Jerome Alexander Wheelchair Van Recipient 2022

In 1991, Jerome Alexander, then 29, was mistaken for someone else resulting in him being shot. He tried to avoid the shooter, but one of the three bullets struck him in his left shoulder and damaged his spinal cord. The result was being paralyzed from the waist down.

This didnโ€™t stop him. He found a job repairing cell phones for Verizon and then worked for a technology company troubleshooting networks. Today Jerome is a Hertz Rental greeter at Charlotte Douglas International airport. He shows customers their car and helps them begin their journey. We asked him about the reactions he receives, this mild-mannered gentleman responded. โ€œThey just say I inspire them.โ€

Jerome also plays trombone in a church band and loves going to church.

All Things Possible Medical Fundraising with the help from the community gave him the keys to his wheelchair van in August 2023.
